These files are a collection of family histories gathered into file folders, binders, boxes, and digital formats. The amount of information ranges from very sparse to one or more volumes. In some instances, the name of the researcher/collector can be provided for additional contact.
Family surnames are listed in alphabetical order. In the event the same surname appears more than once, it is usually because it is also included in another family folder. The column preceding the surname indicates the storage area and must be included in the research request.
Column A headings indicate the following:
- FH - Family Histories in binders
- DFF - Digital Family Files
- FS (vol #) - "Forgotten Settlers of Kansas", vols 1-29
- Hol - Family Histories in Hollinger boxes
- KP - 1,2,3 - Family Stories in "Kansas Pioneers", vols 1-3
- VF - Vertical files
For example, if the request for information was for “Harvey Anderson” in FH, the patron should ask for “FH; Anderson, Harvey”
